Stay Organized With a Black Dry Erase Board
Whether charting your clients contact information, your weight loss, your children’s sports activities or even your pets walking schedule, a black dry erase board can quickly become an essential organizational tool.
For many people it is an easy and convenient way to keep each day organized and running smoothly. However, a dry erase white board isn’t always an attractive piece of decor. Most consist of a simple, unsightly plastic frame and a glossy black surface, making them less than appealing and an eyesore when hung among stylish home décor! So why not make your own?
Here’s what you’ll need:
A 16 x 20” photo frame
Some black scrapbook pages or black paint
A selection of dry erase markers
Wire and a picture hanging kit
Here’s how to do it!
Step One: Begin by purchasing a frame which suits your décor style. Whether you prefer an elaborate golden frame or a simpler, sleek design, just about any frame will work. The choice is completely up to you! Just make sure that the size of the glass is appropriate for your charting and organizational needs.
Step Two: The next few steps require disassembling your frame and preparing the black dry erase board surface so make sure you have a large, clean and protected space to work. Now, place your frame down flat with the decorative side facing your work surface. Remove all of the clips or slide closures from the back of the frame and separate the glass from the frame backing.
Step Three: To transform your frame into one of these helpful dry erase calendars you will need to cover the backing with either black paper or paint. If you are using paint, complete enough coats so that the backing is evenly covered. If you are choosing to use black scrap booking paper, attach the paper using appropriate craft glue. Once the backing is covered, leave it for a day to ensure that your material is completely dry.
Step Four: Once your frame backing is dry it is time to reassemble your picture frame. Begin by cleaning the glass thoroughly and placing it back inside the frame. Now carefully place the black backing down and reattach all of the frame clips. Flip your frame over and you should have your very own, unique erasable wall calendar!
Step Five: Now it is time to hang your frame and plan, chart and organise your day using the glass as your dry erase surface!
There you have it! A one of a kind, creative and affordable black dry erase board!
